It is not really I.C.E itself that impacts our community, but their actions. The actions of I.C.E impacts our community in many different ways. One of them is through young children and teens who go to school. Young adults who go through situations such as their parents being detained and/or being deported experience a difficult time keeping up with their studies. When a student struggles with his/her studies, they are unable to rise to their full potential. A community is best represented by the people in it. The more intelligent the people withing the community, the more it benefits the whole community itself. Young children are an important part of any community and it is an utmost priority to teach them the skills needed for them to become successful in life. This is hard to accomplish when students are bombarded with different situations that they cannot handle and are unable to concentrate on school, which is essentially the most important thing they have.
It is not only the children and young adults that are part of a community. It is also the adults who are also responsible for teaching the children the right path to follow. When adults are arrested and/or detained by I.C.E officials, children lose an important factor in their growth towards adulthood, which is guidance from an experienced adult who been through everything a child is going through.
The teachers are also a special part of any community as they are the ones, apart from the parents, who spends the most time with children and young adults. They are the ones who teach kids what they should know through many different ways. Children and young adults are able to learn in a something fun manner due to their teachers and their personality, When a family member or someone close to a teacher is arrested/detained, they are unable to concentrate on their job. When a teacher is unable to concentrate on his/he job, they are unable to teach their students to the best of their ability. In order to grow into intelligent adults, students must receive quality education from their teachers, without neither them or their teachers being distracted by the activities of I.C.E and the negative effects it has on their family members.
The effect of the actions of I.C.E in our communities are not only through students and teachers, but also through everyone who works within in, no matter their age, sex, background or occupation.
